Alex Iwobi speaks on learning ‘nutmeg skills’ from Jay-Jay Okocha

Arsenal star, Alex Iwobi, has insisted that he didn’t learn nutmeg skills from his uncle, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha.

Iwobi, who has been labelled the ‘King of the Nutmegs’ in the Premier League last campaign stated that Okocha, a former Super Eagles captain, didn’t inspire his nutmeg skills.

The 23-year-old told Super Eagles Media team: ”I’ll like to take ownership for this one. Okocha my uncle has got the skills but nutmeg, I’ll say this is my own ownership.

”It is something that just comes along, I don’t go into games thinking I am going to nutmeg someone, it just happens instinctively, sometimes the easiest way for me to get past an opponent.

”I have been given the title, I can’t let my people down.”

Iwobi is currently in the camp of the Super Eagles getting set for 2019 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Egypt.
