The Nairobi-based rapper is flying high, literally and figuratively. In addition to releasing his fifth album – ‘Eastlando Royalty’ – which is still doing numbers, King Kaka landed multiple corporate endorsements last year.
His community service work with his King Kaka Sanitary Bank Campaign saw the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation invite him for the Annual Goalkeeper Conference. He also became the first East African to be interviewed on Hot 97, one of America’s biggest radio stations.
In yet another first, King Kaka has made history as the first Kenyan music act to grace the Red Carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. Or at least King Kaka claims to be.
This month, Hollywood’s biggest stars are descending upon the French Riviera for the 72nd annual festival until May 25. And King Kaka happens to be among the Hollywood elite thanks to his partnership with Premium cognac brand Rémy Martin.
King Kaka was last August named the face of Rémy Martin’s global campaign “One Life. Live Them.”

As a Remy Boy, King Kaka is being accorded the kind of treatment associated with A-list celebrities. From flying in a chopper over the French Riviera to dining with international stars, King Kaka is in good company.
In a series of posts on Instagram, King Kaka showed off his chopper ride to the Cannes, his sharp look at the Red Carpet and his photo-op with American pop star Selena Gomez.
On his chopper ride, King Kaka bragged that there was traffic hence the need to fly high.
On his meeting with Selena Gomez, King Kaka dedicated it to all Kenyan girls. He wrote, “Believe you are strong, believe you are capable and believe anything is possible.”
