RISING hip hop artiste, Rubby Gold, went down memory lane recently, revealing how men she called ‘liars’ broke her heart and sexually harassed her. She said, “I’ve learnt my lesson.”
Rubby, whose birth name is Ebere Blessing Okafor made this revelation in a chat with WG. She vowed never to fall into such trap again. “I have been heartbroken and sexually harassed by liars and deceitful men but I’ve learnt my lesson, never to fall into such trap again,” she said.
The rising act said, she started singing way back in her secondary school days. Then, she was called Celine Din by her schoolmates because of her sonorous voice.
Rubby who has two singles to her credit, “My Love Is with You” and “Ojo Ti Mo Ri E”(meaning “The Day I saw You)” sings about love and peace. She told WG that her dream was to do a duet with some Nigerian hip hop stars like Don Jazzy, D’banj, Yemi Alade, Waje among others.
Rubby is not just a singer, she’s also a make-up artiste, hair stylist and an interior designer. She’s looking forward to getting signed to a reputable record label in due time.
