Isaac Ofori, Awutu Senya East Municipal Engineer

The Awutu Senya East Municipal Engineer, Mr. Isaac Ofori, has asked the public especially residents in the area to desist from politicizing his job.

Mr. Ofori made the appeal after the closure of some stores within the Kasoa new market.

He disclosed to Rainbow Radio’s Kwabena Agyekum Banahene that the closure of the stores was linked to the non-payment of 30% tax to the assembly and not politically motivated as speculated by some persons.

According to him, the affected persons failed to comply with the directive hence the closure.

Some affected persons who had their shops closed expressed disappointment in government and attributed the action to political reasons.

But the engineer has refuted the claims and urged the owners of the stores and sellers to pay their taxes to help put up an ultra- modern market complex for the area.

Meanwhile, some of the shop owners have been arrested for defying orders of the assembly by reopening their stores after they were shut.
