Since taking up the reins in February, President Cyril Ramaphosa has had a lot on his plate: reviving the economy, cleaning out state-owned enterprises and rooting out corruption in the post-Zuma era.

Ramaphosa’s investment plan was one of his big wins this year – but the ongoing recession was one of his glaring failures.
