Say whatever you want about Heavy K, just don’t call his music ‘trash’

2018 has been a very eventful year for Heavy K, who not only “opened” the year by being his father’s blesser, but went on to claim the year like it only belonged to him. He insists that of all the things that can be used to troll him, calling his music trash has the most sting.

“The most hurtful thing that’s ever been said to me is that my music is trash. I mean, I can understand if you don’t like it or it’s not your kind of sound, but calling it trash really hurts me because I work hard to make it.”

The Wena hitmaker not only saw a lifelong dream come to life when he bought his father a car and a house, he also helped launch his wife”s career with a hit song.

It’s also been a great year for Heavy in terms of his own career and his health.

“If I ever reach a level where I make songs that don’t make me happy or are mediocre, I will quit because I don’t want to mess up a legacy I have worked so hard to create. God gave me this gift and if there ever comes a day where I can’t make Heavy K kind of music, then I’l gladly step down.”

The hitmaker began his fitness journey and is on a mission to raise funds to take his son, Juju, to have the best medical care for his cerebral palsy.

Chatting with TshisaLIVE about his year, Heavy said all that he’s done this year has helped reinforce his core values, which are respect, humbleness and family.

“Respect is the most important value for me. You need it in everything you do. Respect for yourself, for other people and for your craft.”
