Bernard Avle

Host of Citi FM’s breakfast show, Bernard Koku Avle says Ghanaians do not value truth.

The reigning Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) Journalist of the year said this on Starr chat with Bola Ray and monitored by Saltfmonline’s Nana Kwabena Agyare.

According to him, a society that values truth and information will at no point in time harm a journalist.

“A society that values truth and information will never assault a journalist. “

” The truth is that in Ghana, truth is not important to us. We don’t value truth.” – He added

His comments comes on the back of the recent assaults on journalists who were discharging their duties.

A reporter with Joy News, Parker Wilson was assaulted in the line of duty by a member of the security detail of Ex-president John Mahama in October this year. He was allegedly slapped by the security detail.
